Why use Infra?

Infra combines fire, security and communications capability. That is particularly useful where a project crosses disciplines — for example, CCTV cameras using existing network infrastructure, access control requiring new structured cabling, or a multi-site maintenance programme covering several systems.

Based in Lancashire, we support local customers across the North West as well as nationwide commercial and multi-site work.

FAQ

Fire Risk Assessments FAQs

Common questions about fire risk assessments for commercial premises.

What is a fire risk assessment?

A fire risk assessment is a structured review of fire hazards, people at risk, existing fire precautions and the actions needed to manage fire safety in the premises.

When should a fire risk assessment be reviewed?

It should be reviewed regularly and when significant changes occur, such as alterations, a change of use, changes in occupancy or major changes to fire precautions.

What is the difference between pre-occupancy and post-occupancy assessment?

A pre-occupancy review considers the premises before normal use begins, while a post-occupancy assessment can evaluate the building as it is actually being used, including real staffing, activities and occupancy.

Does a fire risk assessment include remedial work?

The assessment identifies issues and recommended actions. Physical remedial works are normally quoted and delivered separately unless the agreed scope says otherwise.

Can one assessment cover several buildings?

Each premises needs appropriate consideration of its own layout, use and risks. Multi-site programmes can still be coordinated under one overall project.

Can Infra complete other fire-safety work identified by the assessment?

Where the recommendations fall within our service scope, we can quote for fire alarm, emergency lighting, extinguisher, fire-door or fire-stopping works.
